While finishing up some work (filings for tomorrow) and while sitting on the patio, Street and Rags showed up. They are our “outside cats”. They have adopted us and we feed them and give them attention whenever they come by - which is every day at the evening feeding hour. But they always come to the front of the house. Today was different and they wandered into the back - the domain of Forest and Ursa, our indoor cats. So, while Street and Rags wandered around the patio furniture and smelled their flowers Forest and Usra watched, intently. And then a possum strolled by. As a displaced New Yoker, I thought at first that it must be a hugh rat, but no. A possum. Welcome to Florida, city boy. Then, moments later the neighbors across the way brought out their new puppy, “Sam? or Teavo?” He didn't bark, but thought the whole thing interesting enough to walk as far as his leach would let him into our “common yard”. Again, Forest and Ursa sat and watched from behind the screen door. Wild Kingdom in Deerfield Beach. Perhaps I'll let the displaced commanders of their territory come out and inspect the damage done once the offending intruders leave.

While writing this, iTunes played: Beausoleil / Bon Temps Rouler from the album “The Best Of Louisiana Music” by Beau Soleil.

LoudBandThe "Antic" was this Sunday. And Magnetic Field had claim to the loudest band in Brooklyn. It was wicked cool & very loud!

The best bar in Brooklyn. Cast your vote here. While I'd prefer that you cast you ballot for Magnetic Field as it is my personal favorite watering hole, be sure to vote either way at Citysearch.

If your stuck, I'll add my pitch for Fields as those in the know call it: with live music every Saturday and DJs Thursday-Saturday, plus the chance to spin your own platters on Mondays, how can you go wrong? Oh yeah they also have a pretty swanky bar staff and great cold brews on tap.

The above is given as a pure and unsolicited opinion and I have no financial or other personal motivation in making the above statements other that its a cool place that needs to do well and make money so that I can continue to frequent there with my friends. Although, I won't turn down a free Sierra if the mood strikes 'em.

George Matarazzo survives shotgun blast to head.

Brooklyn, NY: In a bold and unexpected move today in criminal court, Mr. Matarazzo was released unto the world a free man. After two years of legal cat-and-mouse, the defendant was found not-guilty on all charges but released under the rules of probation as part of a earlier settlement of "no-contest" with the prosecution. The judge summed up the anticipated conclusion with, "Mr. Matarazzo, you are free to go. The court thanks you for your time." This reporter wonders if other super heros lurk within the Brooklyn court houses.

"And she told two friends, and she told told two friends..." Because of the grape vine I was fortunate to have two blasts from the past send me their love and well-wishes recently: Carolyn Hickey now known as C-Lynn Vallone & Katherine Shepherdson (SP?) now know as Kathy Ambrose

Now I am happy that you two are both "Married w/Children" but did you have to give up on the beautiful first names you were both given in addition to your adoption of new last names? You know, I move away for a couple of years and the whole town goes nutty. Carolyn & Katherine are beautiful names. Use them every once in a while ya' wackos! :-)

I look forward to seeing you all again this Thanksgiving - including C-Lynn & Mike's Ethan, whom I have not yet met. PS: New photos of the kiddies would be nice, including those adorable Halloween costume pics.
