Wild Kingdom in Deerfield
While finishing up some work (filings for tomorrow) and while sitting on the patio, Street and Rags showed up. They are our “outside cats”. They have adopted us and we feed them and give them attention whenever they come by - which is every day at the evening feeding hour. But they always come to the front of the house. Today was different and they wandered into the back - the domain of Forest and Ursa, our indoor cats. So, while Street and Rags wandered around the patio furniture and smelled their flowers Forest and Usra watched, intently. And then a possum strolled by. As a displaced New Yoker, I thought at first that it must be a hugh rat, but no. A possum. Welcome to Florida, city boy. Then, moments later the neighbors across the way brought out their new puppy, “Sam? or Teavo?” He didn't bark, but thought the whole thing interesting enough to walk as far as his leach would let him into our “common yard”. Again, Forest and Ursa sat and watched from behind the screen door. Wild Kingdom in Deerfield Beach. Perhaps I'll let the displaced commanders of their territory come out and inspect the damage done once the offending intruders leave.
While writing this, iTunes played: Beausoleil / Bon Temps Rouler from the album “The Best Of Louisiana Music” by Beau Soleil.
